6 is the first molar
7 second molar
8 third molar
However can be left as such (in numbers)

You can but you have to follow the teeth numbering system that corresponds to it.

Caries: Scientific name for dental cavities; it is both singular and plural. A tooth may have several carious lesions at different sites of its anatomy, BTW I'm a licensed DDS
