There is also the term "Greasy Joe", but I think both are pejorative. Pé-sujo does not imply the food is dirty or greasy, on the contrary, the atmosphere is very simple, but the food is good, simple home made style food.

Hi Toby - the accurate translation for this (at least in American English) would be "greasy spoon" - but I guess that's tooo pejorative, right? :o)
