English term

logistics chain maximised use COTS/MOTS

English Tech/Engineering Military / Defense
This is a bullet point in a presentation describing an armoured digger/obstacle remover used in military operations.

In a slide about the machine's capability, it says:

Affordable:
--> More cost effective than MBT engineer variants
--> Low manpower costs (2 crew)
--> Cost effective logistics chain maximised use COTS/MOTS

I've already established that "COTS/MOTS" stands for "Commercial / Military off-the-shelf", but I can't figure our what "logistics chain maximised use COTS/MOTS" could possibly mean here.

Thank you!

essentially agree with orientalhorizon -- IMO there should be colon or en dash between 'chain' and 'maximised', OR 'maximised...'should be a separate bullet point (these things happen...)
Peer comment(s):

agree Craig Meulen : Yes, you could be right Ken, it'd make a lot more sense with "maximised ..." as a new bullet point.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks all - points go to Ken for also suggesting that there should have been a colon after "chain""

maximised use of off-the-shelf components or (sub)assemblies

the maximised use of readily available components or (sub)assemblies will reduce pressure on logistics chain, not necessary to resort to too much special efforts.
