In Verbindung mit Kohle schlägt LEO "briquette" (also "briquet"). Diesen begriff könnte man m.E. eventuell auf die Anwendung im Zusammenhang mit Ziegelsteinen übertragen. Eine andere Möglichkeit, auf die Beschaffenheit hinzuweisen, wäre "near-dry".
