Polish term
nadawca i odbiorca
Polish to English
Art/Literary
Poetry & Literature

addresser vs. addressee
Tak bym chyba to zrobił.
"addressee" is an intended direct recipient of the speaker's communication.

2.1 The problem of defining a sender
Narrative communication is originally understood as the “process of transmission from the author as addresser to the reader as addressee”3. This definition, however, relates mainly to literature as written texts such as books. For narration as it appears in movies one has to apply a quite different definition. The viewer as the addressee of a film can be compared to the reader of a book but instead of reading words and interpreting them through rules of syntax and semantics, the viewer perceives sequenced single shots and connects them to comprehensible images and from these he constructs a story.

This paper explores the concept of truth as presented in two texts written by Increase Mather: A Further Account of the Tryals of the New England Witches and Cases of Conscience Concerning Witchcraft and Evil Spirits Personating Men. The theoretical framework used in the analysis of the data is the Pragmatic Theory of Truth (Peirce 1994) which points out that a proposition is true if it is useful to believe in it. This perspective takes into consideration several contextual factors such as participants and the relationship that holds between them, as well as their influence upon the meaning as it was intended to be conveyed by the addresser and understood by the addressee.

sender and receiver
Moim zdaniem też mogą być, gdyż we wszystkich rozważaniach nt. procesu komunikowania się, a bez wątpienia przekaz ustny jest częścią procesu komunikowania się, mówi się o senderze i receiwerze.
The sender is an individual, group, or organization who initiates the communication. This source is initially responsible for the success of the message. The sender's experiences, attitudes, knowledge, skill, perceptions, and culture influence the message. "The written words, spoken words, and nonverbal language selected are paramount in ensuring the receiver interprets the message as intended by the sender" (Burnett & Dollar, 1989). All communication begins with the sender.
Jesli zatem autor sam posłużył się terminologią zaczerpniętą z rozważań nad komunikacją, to może nie ma sensu tego zmieniać.

Example sentence:
Communication can best be summarized as the transmission of a message from a sender to a receiver in an understandable manner.
The sender intends -- whether consciously or unconsciously -- to accomplish something by communicating.

Po komentarzu Tomasza:
rzeczywiście trzeba chyba ogólniej, np. author and audience
ale to wszystko nieśmiałe propozycje :)
