German term
Träger des SGB II
German to English
Law/Patents
Government / Politics
I can't get at the meaning of "Träger" in the following text dealing with labour policy and strategy, can anyone help?
Am I right in thinking that this is "bodies responsible"?

"Carrier(s)" is a mistranslation IMHO. Träger are organisations/entities/bodies providing services and/or financial assistance.

: Carrier bestimmt nicht. It's not a private insurance policy.

: However: how can you be a carrier OF a code? Change it to "under the Social Security Code" or "as provided for by", etc.

: "Carrier" is a literal mistranslation - what's meant here are providers (organisations/entities/bodies providing services and/or financial assistance under the Social Security Code II).

There are plenty of such sites if you enter "carrier under the social security act".
