Spanish term

material fijo/ material fundible

Spanish to English Science IT (Information Technology) Ontology
Supongamos que se trata de una empresa dedicada a la informatización de documentos. [...]
Se van a despreciar ahora los temas de ***material fijo, material fungible***, gastos de mantenimiento, que quedarán incluidos en el apartado de presupuestos.

This is from a document on Ontology in Computer Science. They are using an example of a company who deals with computerizing information in order to illustrate models of classification methods. So I suppose I just need a general term. I think 'material fundible' are 'consumables' but the other? Not 'permanent materials' but something else...:)
Thanks in advance. UK audience.

Kate, on top you wrote 'fundible' but in context 'fungible' - which I believe is correct. See the links I posted. Much luck!

Don't worry about a thing, Kate. No problem at all. Just send your queries and, if I can't help, someone else will be able to.

fixed assets/consumables

This seems to me to refer to an inventory control system.

tangible/intangible assets

After your explanation, Kate, this is the only other reasonable reply I can give. It's generic. Hope this helps (although I do think you should ask your client directly what he/she means here).
Note from asker:
With all due respect, I am actually working pretty closely with the client and a friend of hers in order to produce a high-quality translation, and it isn't easy, but seeing as we have many very complex terms to deal with already (holons, nodes, conceptual classifications and all sorts of complex setences that deal with what for me are often horribly difficult concepts), I hope you don't mind if I DO post the odd, less horrible question here on kudos so as to narrow down the amount of sifting we do when we go through my doubts tomorrow! Hope you don't object! Best wishes and thanks for your help, Kate
By the way, this answer may well fit my context rather well, and thanks again. ;)

Given this particular context, this would be my version. (Without further context I cannot be more specific).

Hi Kate.

There's no need to ask me for "all due respect". I fully understand your situation. I honestly can't offer you any further suggestions regarding this question, but go ahead and ask all the others you need to. If I can, I will certainly try to help you out (as I've often needed!!).

Note from asker:
Hi Margaret: thanks for you help. I have given a pretty decent quantity of context above, but if you need some more information, well there really isn't very much more I can tell you, given that, as I mentioned above, the company is a HYPOTHETICAL one, and so they don't really go into much detail about what kinds of matierials these might be, hence my search for a vague or general term. They talk about the different departments and how these can be classified within Ontology theory, and what problems these systems of clssification might present. With regards to this hypothetical company, not much more I can tell you. The author wishes to concentrate on something else in the company (personnel, management etc.) rather than using material objects to make her example (that's how I understand it) represented here by the 'materiales fijos' etc. Hope that helps!
Oh dear, think we have a mix up now! I wrote (see above) WITH all due respect, which means I am not asking you FOR respect, rather, attempting to GIVE it to my helpful peers whilst defending why I do not send all queries no matter how small to my client (and possibly failing somehow to respect you in the process, maybe). Sorry. :)
