text from Spain, continuing the description of the contents of a site..."Dama" is in italics in the text, but I cannot find anything...TIA!

Hi Edward! I happen to know this one...dama dama is fallow deer, but dama is the genus in English as well as Spanish.

agree Cinnamon Nolan : Yes, genus is often in italics in English, and as Lisa suggests, I'd keep the genus instead of changing to fallow deer.
