Italian term

beni d'interesse testimoniale

Italian to English Other Other industrial heritage
I'm translating the Plan for a National Park which also includes a section on the "patrimonio edilizio" to be preserved. This is divided into various sections, one of which is industrial archaeology, described as "beni di interesse storico-testimoniale". I understand what they mean, but just can't think of a neat way of translating that "testimoniale" into English. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Sarah.

buildings of landmark historical interest

Looking at the definition of landmark (see definition 4 on this page: http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?s=landmark&gwp=13 , I think this fits best

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "It's always so difficult translating this sort of "formal speak" in both languages and this had a good sound to it in the context. Thanks to you all for your help, Sarah. "

historical heritage

With a view of the full text. I would search for something to replace "heritage", like buildings, museum exhibits, documents or what have you. If you consider that one definition of "history" is that it starts with written records (before that is archaeology), then the "testimoniale" part is really already included in the word history, and an attempt to add an adjective would probably add nothing and just spoil the flow of the sentence.
Note from asker:
Jim, you're right, I should have given more context, not least because it explains why I need an adjective, because there are two types of "beni d'interesse storico" involved. Here's the full paragraph: "Sono stati identificati [...] beni di interesse storico-ambientale i nuclei o manufatti legati all'attività silvo-pastorale e beni di interesse storico-testimoniale l'archeologia industriale."
