French term

rigole

French to English Tech/Engineering Metallurgy / Casting rigole
I can't find any definition suitable for perforating metal sheets. The definition of a rigole is:

déformation de la surface du matériau, sur une ligne de trous, de faible amplitude, mais néanmoins visible.
Proposed translations (English)

4 straight dug line
3 longitudinal indentation
2 +1 fold line

crease

Possibly qualified as "drilling crease" or "punching crease", depending on the perforation process used, or even "perforation crease".
Peer comment(s):

agree Bashiqa : or "pressure crease"

neutral kashew : Mediatrix seems right too, but this is concise like rigole. But if definition given really applies it's too pronounced as a defect.

longitudinal indentation

I think you may be mis-interpreting the text when you say you "can't find any definition suitable for perforating metal sheets".
The term is not concerned with the perforation itself. It describes a defect caused by the perforation process which leaves a 'groove' along a line of holes caused, for example, by the use of excessive force on the perforating tool.
Peer comment(s):

neutral kashew : I agree it's a defect - inter-hole groove/scratch.

fold line

SCORING RULE
Steel blade that leaves impression in blank without cutting – usually a fold line.

The depth of etch for the fold line into the metal can also be controlled but it is more common to allow the depth to "bottom-out" at around the 66 to 70 % of material thickness

For this purpose, the inventive method comprises the following steps: preprofiling the sheet metal element (100) in such a manner as to produce, on a first face (104) of the sheet metal element (100), a recess (106) which extends along a desired fold line, and, on a second face of the sheet metal element, a projection (110) which also extends along the desired fold line and is opposite the recess; and bending the sheet metal element (100) on the fold line along which the recess (106) and the projection (110) extend, thereby producing the fold.

If the ´déformation´ is a defect, I agree with you Tom and mediamatrix. I first thought it was an intentional bend/crease to facilitate folding but this may not make sense in Angel_7's case.

Peer comment(s):

neutral Tom Bishop : All of your references indicate that this is a deliberately created feature rather than a defect.

Is it not deliberately created?
neutral Jennifer Levey : I agree with Tom. Asker's text is describing defects in perforated materials caused by problems with the perforating machine.

neutral kashew : I see the word "scoring" which could be the thing here. Folding no.
