I bet you heard that before. The same happens with the expression in Spanish: it's one of those that become recurrent among scholars, like "una dicotomía disolvente", "ventaja comparativa", and the like.

In the case of the one you ask, that would be the English counterpart, the one used by English-speaking scholars, which, besides, carries exactly the same meaning.
