German term
p-I-Geber
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Hydr. - Gleichlaufsystem
Rohleitungsmaterial
Am thinking the "I" might be something like "Induktion" but really can't seem to find what this stands for. Also, is "Geber" here a kind of sensor (later on the word "Wegmessgeber" appears also) or is it more of an "Auslöser"? The text is about a pressing machine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

current output pressure transducer
Might this be a device to convert a pressure "p" into an electric current "I"? Seems plausible.

Background information: current output vs. voltage output
The voltage output type produces an output voltage that reflects the pressure applied to the sensor. If you need to cover long distances, this voltage will decrease due to the resistance of the cable. For these cases, a current output is used: it's output is a current that reflects the pressure, which naturally will be identical no matter how long the cable is.

sorry: ***its*** output

Let me put the last sentence in a different way and make it clearer:
For these cases, a current output is used: Here, the pressure is represented by a current, which naturally will be identical no matter how long the cable is.

: Or simply 'pressure transducer' (they all deliver an electrical output)

Thanks! But imho, "current" is important in order to distinguish them from voltage output pressure transducers...

: efreitag is right, for highlighting "current" (if it is a pressure-current transducer)

Comment: "Thanks everyone. I ended up just putting "p-I transducer", but good to know what it stands for."

PI transducer
Reminds me to PID.
Family of PI (Proportional Integral) Thermostat. Simple to use, intuitive to operate, and wall mountable as compared to an industrial panel mounted PID temperature controller.
http://www.radiantoptics.com/PDF/ThermostatProd10-Jan1508.pd...
A proportional–integral–derivative controller (PID controller) is a generic control loop feedback mechanism (controller) widely used in industrial control systems.
..
The PID controller calculation (algorithm) involves three separate parameters; the proportional, the integral and derivative values. The proportional value determines the reaction to the current error, the integral value determines the reaction based on the sum of recent errors, and the derivative value determines the reaction based on the rate at which the error has been changing.

PI controller Proportional and Integral terms
The user can tune the performance of the PI controller to suit his process demands by adjusting the P and I terms, P2280 and P2285.
..
The relation between the sensor signal and the manner in which the PI controller changes the motor frequency must also be defined at this point. This is done using P2271 (PI transducer type).
