Discussion

carly kelly Jun 27, 2009:
width just noticed now that the question was closed without grading but yes, asta refers to the belt strap and so 3.5 cm is the width.
Being Earnest (asker) Jun 27, 2009:
thanks to all but after a frantic search on the web I think the right term is "Wide"; look at fashion sites
Being Earnest (asker) Jun 27, 2009:
this is a belt and not a rug (pile)

3.5 cm prong

As "astas" are normally long thin things like rods, spectacle sidepieces or flagpoles, the only thing that springs to (my) mind along those lines vis-a-vis belts is the prong, which at about 3.5 cm long sounds about right (but not sure why "altezza" rather than "lunghezza").

belt (strap) width

asta here refers to the actual belt, the leather/fabric strap as opposed to the buckle.
