Think of it this way; it's the same as "to object" as in "I object to your coming". :-)
For and of are not used in conjunction with "suggestions".

: Sorry Diarmuid, but I have to disagree with you. Ex sample: My suggestion TO you: go see a doctor. You never say My suggestion for you go see a doctor, or my suggestion of you: go see a doctor. I believe "to" is the only preposition which fits here.

You are right, you suggest something to someone. But in my opinion, it is not good English to make suggestions TO a process.
Can u provide me with a dictionary reference for the use of the word suggestion in the way you suggest? I haven't been able any.

Perhaps we need some input from some others. Otherwise we will have to agree to differ. I am always ready to be corrected or to improve my English, so if you can show me some authoritative sources for your English usage, I would be happy to see them. Try Googling "suggestion to a process" (zero results) or 'Suggestion to the process" (only a handful of suspect references).
