I'm not 100% sure how to work in 'social' and 'evolving'. It's possible that 'evolving' could be subsumed by 'prospective'. It definitely means evoloving as the study goes forward; it's not a reference to evolution in the Darwinian sense.

agree Richard Boulter : I think this is the right interpretation for the source. Also, this is the only Answer that used 'study' to translate 'investigacion'. 'Investigation' would also have worked, but in my mind 'research' never takes either of the articles 'the, a'.
