German term

ohne Einspruch zur Kenntnis nehmen

German to English Law/Patents Medical: Health Care
Context: clinical trial

"Die Kommission nimmt eine Versicherungsbestätigung vom 8. September 2008 ohne Einspruch zur Kenntnis."

I am looking for the correct [semi-] legal expression that would work for a clinical trial audit context.

Discussion

Marga Shaw Nov 23, 2009:
@ lirka With William, your suggestion does not really fit. In addition, this is a simple letter of confirmation from (presumably) the Ethics Committee to a trial centre or sponsor, so why not keep the translation equally simple?
wpwpwpwp Nov 23, 2009:
In a legal context that means something else that doesn't really fit, i.e. assert jurisdiction over
Lirka (asker) Nov 23, 2009:
@ EVERYONE! How about "taking cognizance of" for "zur Kenntnis nehmen"?

acknowledges without objection

I have seen this terminology in official decrees from federal drug regulatory organizations.
Example sentence:

The Recipient acknowledges, without objection, that the transfer of biological resources does not constitute transfer to the Recipient of the intellectual ...

That testimony was admitted without objection....

accept

I'm not sure there is any particular legal phrase - it simply means they have been provided with the document ("take note of" it does not sound very English) and have no objections to it.
Peer comment(s):

agree David Hollywood : maybe with "unconditionally/without reservations" ... or "fully accept"

... has received/acknowledges receipt of ... and has/raises no objection[s]

The [Ethics] Committee has received the confirmation of insurance cover of 8 September 2008 and has/raises no objection[s].

or

The [Ethics] Committee acknowledges receipt of the confirmation of insurance cover of 8 September 2008 and has/raises no objection[s].

... would be another option.

e.g.:
Before commencement of a trial, the sponsor should ensure that Health Canada and the Research Ethics Board have raised no objections to the Clinical Trial Application.
