Hello,
This comes from a part-time contract for a hospital doctor. As it's followed by a number, is it perhaps a licence number?

77 could be the department number (Seine et Marne) since you have a department , regional, and national chapter.

Note from asker:
Thanks, I googled ordinal qualification and only got one hit, so wasn't very encouraged..better results with a different search engine. though. Thanks for the link |

SJLD
: totally irrelevant/the "ordinal qualification" in your link has nothing to do with a doctor's qualification - it's about data processing

Why? The link given simply explained the reason for using these, so what's irrelevant about that?????

Note from asker:
so, as it's followed by a number, would that be the doctor's French General Medical Council number? 77 doesn't sound high enough! |

SJLD
: yes, the Ordre des Médecins being the French medical board/council - if you give the answer in the reference someone is bound to come in and grab it ;-)/exactly ;-)

Merci, SJLD//As it is already in the glossary, there was no need to post an "answer," IMO

As a web search will reveal, "qualification ordinale" is authorisation to practise a specialty granted by the French medical council, indicating experience in the special domain and accepted as an equivalent to a specialist diploma.

As I say, I agree with your answer, but was trying to help our Asker. Figured if the links did not work for me, they would not work for Anne Greaves, either.
