Discussion
Sorry, I guess I misunderstood what you meant :-)
It may have been just a text slide with nothing else on it.
But it would definitely help with the context if there where images on the slide.
@sas_proz Likewise. and yes, you are right, the asker will decide.
and the problem in the south, if we are talking about countries like, india and china, is an excess of congestion and pollution resulting from too many personal vehicles and taxis on the roads in major cities.
my assumption that this is what is being referred to stems from "Private Vehicle -->Public Transit"
which implies that we are not taking about creating transit where the is none but rather switching from one form of transit to another.
@sas_proz: how do you explain "rapid motorization" as an advantage of transitioning from private to public transit. it does not fit.
rapid motorization is an increase in the number of vehicles in general not an increase in mobility of the population.
example: http://www.etcproceedings.org/paper/rapid-motorization-and-r...
but either way the point is in slides it is not that easy to tell exactly what the other intended to say, therefore, it is safer not to put words in his/her mouth. i.e. not add anything that is not there to begin with.
1-because the global south is experiencing rapid motorization
2-which has resulted in high black carbon emissions
3&4-it is cheaper and safer
the fact that public transit reduces black carbon emissions is implied indirectly - to use the word снижение in the translation may distort the flow of the talk and is not appropriate IMO
