Me quedé en un banco.

Granted, the first answer is the literal answer. But, if you want to be just a little bit literary, and give the sense of not only sitting on a bench, but staying there a while, you could try this one. Quedarse is to remain in one place. And, the rest of the poem indicates contemplation in one spot.
