Deze staat nog niet in mijn Van den End uit 2008 (Juridisch-Economish Lexicon), en ik heb me scheel gegoogeld. Dus: wie heeft een nieuwer lexicon en/of weet de meest gangbare vertaling van dit Decree?

Beware of website translations IMO, the example offered by Kitty, demonstrates perfectly that care should be taken when using websites as reference material. The Onderwijsraad.nl translation has either been translated by a Dutch translator with a fair knowledge of English, or by a mediocre English translator who has more or less translated a Dutch text verbatim.

Would an English speaker really say For example "offers an opportunity to send a signal to teacher training colleges"? I think not.

FWIW :-)

The legislation regulating professional competence requirements for teachers (Besluit bekwaamheidseisen onderwijspersoneel) offers an opportunity to send a signal to teacher training colleges that communication with parents should be addressed by the curriculum.
