I'm sure this is one option you can use. Bearers of the flame is an expression for those carrying on the musical tradition, adds a bit more color to your translation without being too excessive IMO. I wrote about popular music for a major newspaper for years and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to use that phrase in this context. But it's all up to you as far as phrasing.
