French term
CP / Project Manager / responsable du projet
French to English
Tech/Engineering
Construction / Civil Engineering
health and safety plan
L’approbation et la signature du CP et du Project Manager de xxxxxxx, ainsi que le responsable du projet du client.
Assuming that CP means 'chef de projet', does anyone have any ideas on how not to end up with a bunch of Project Managers?
(I suppose I could say Client's Project Manager for 'responsable'...).
Thanks for any suggestions.

Director of Projects/Projects Director
I'm working in this field and in my case, the company was awarded a new contract in a different location so the Project Manager was given added responsibilities and became the "Projects Director" meaning he is overseeing all projects in the country to some extent.

: You are extrapolating from one particular case. There is nothing to indicate that the CP in the question enjoyed a similar expansion of role.// You're right about rank, but CP is probably a role, not a job title.

You're right but the impression that I also got was that a 'CP' refers to a higher ranking position than a project manager and thought sharing my experience would shed some light.

Comment: "Thanks to you and to everyone for their input. I have put in a note to the client about whether CP is in fact higher ranking than Project Manager."

: Can you find any examples of such titles being used on construction projects?

Project manager of X
You have to qualify each project manager with company name or by trade.
Note from asker:
Thanks Richard - the only problem is that CP and Project Manager both work for the same company and I have no further context as it's basically a form with a list of documents that have to be included. |

Another possibility.

: Not wishing to upset engineers, many construction projects don't involve them in management roles. Also, which of the three roles in question did you think this applied to?

Project Leader/Director // Project Manager // Client's/Owner's Project Manager
"Project leader (PL): The PL is responsible for achieving the project’s objectives. He is the manager 'in line'.
Project director (PD): The PD is the leader of a big project that can be broken down in sub-projects (e.g. Channel tunnel). He can also be the head of a PM organisation. OR: The OR is the representative of the owner. This function can be provided either internally or externally."

Discussion
In any other context, I would translate all three terms as "project manager".
This gets rid of one of them!!
