In this context, it could also be construed as the "quest" for knowledge.

agree Bubo Coroman (X) : I think "cult of knowledge" fits well because these are two very important religious figures and "cult" is a direct reference to spiritual knowledge (as opposed to a quest for scientific knowledge)

After reading your comment and muses', I searched for references. Quest comes up more than cult, but that could be only because quest has a certain ring to it.
agree neilmac : I agree with Debs. Cult is fine but there may be reservations about the negative associations of "cult" (Manson, Jim Jones, Rev. Moon...), and quest is nice and Tolkienian.

Thanks, Neil. The tricky part of cult isn't so much Manson, as the cults of Teresa and St. John themselves as saints.
