Russian term
знакотехника
Russian to English
Bus/Financial
IT (Information Technology)
systems analysis (maybe IT)
Требуются специальные формы организации совместных работ людей, а также специальные техники схематизации и **знакотехнической** работы, без которых ни снять опыт, ни упаковать, ни передать, ни употребить его на новом месте попросту невозможно.
The translator put "sign-technical work." The editor (me), says, "Huh??"
Thanks in advance!
(I'm only guessing that it has to do with IT.)

It has to do with semiotics.
Please see:
Semiotics, also called semiotic studies or (in the Saussurean tradition) semiology, is the study of signs and sign processes (semiosis), indication, designation, likeness, analogy, metaphor, symbolism, signification, and communication. Semiotics is closely related to the field of linguistics, which, for its part, studies the structure and meaning of language more specifically. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semiotics

Just a suggestion. I am not sure that this is the right term. The references on the Internet are mostly about road signs and astrology.

Discussion
Every time I come across someone saying something like this - I mean, saying it for real, I have an irresistible urge to pat the poor sob (yeah, they are usually men) on the back and maybe give him a lollipop. Susan, it doesn't really matter what you do with it, you may as well leave it as is.
" Ближайшей целью создания лаборатории было снятия ограничений на участие ее первых сотрудников (...) в игровом и методологическом движении"
says it all.
