I am translating responses to the final "comments" section of an employee survey about their company.
I´m having real difficulty thinking of an appropriate translation for "opacar los esfuerzos de" in the below context.
Thanks in advance for your ideas!
"la gerencia menosprecia los trabajos de sus subordinados opacando los esfuerzos para ellos coger el credito."

dismissive of (their) efforts
esta es una propuesta de solución mediante el refraseo... esencialmente, al dar vuelta la oración, lo de 'opacando sus esfuerzos' se traslada al principio de la oración; y lo de 'menosprecia' se traduce con 'discounts their contributions' i.e. what the employees do for the success of the company or organization.

Doesn't maintain the opacity notion, but:
be·lit·tle: to make (someone or something) seem unimportant: "this is not to belittle his role".
