Aortendissektionsstemport Typ B

German to English Medical Medical: Cardiology aortic dissection
I know the difference between a type A and B aortic dissection. But what is the 'Stemport'?
Does this have to do with portal branch? type B portal branch aortic dissection

This comes from a list of diagnoses in the patient record. The codes are all listed. If it helps, this is code I71.00

Can anyone tell me if the ICD9 codes are the same in the US and Europe or used in both countries?

thanks M! How's life?
agree uyuni : cf. http://www.icd-code.de/suche/icd/code/I71.-.html?sp=Si71.00 In the US ICD-9 is still in use. They will switch to ICD-10 CM (four/five character encoding) in 2013. Most European countries introduced ICD-10 at least 10 years ago.

ICD-10-CM Coding for Aortic Aneurysm and Dissection
The index and tabular list for aortic aneurysm and dissection is very similar in ICD-10-CM as in ICD-9-CM. The ICD-10-CM code assignments are as follows:

• I71.00, Dissection of unspecified site of aorta

The -stemport part, I think, might be analysed like this:

s-tempor-t = s(uperfcial)-temporal artery-t (?). The T is a mystery. However, one of the 8 branches of the superficial temporal artery is called Transverse facial artery. The T in Transverse might be the missing one.

Can a surgeon or medical translator help? :)

neutral Siegfried Armbruster : Some people do invest considerable time to learn anatomy, it is always interesting that others believe that this is not so important
