Estoy traduciendo un artículo sobre antagonistas del receptor de la progesterona.
"Relative binding affinities
... Tenfold serial dilutions (10 (to the)-6 – 10 (to the)-10) of the compound to be tested were prepared in a 10 mM Tris (pH 7.6) 0.3 MKCl, 5 mM DTT solution. A 100 ml aliquot of each dilution was transferred to a polystyrene tube containing 5 nM [3H] progesterone or [3H] dexamethasone. To each tube either PR containing extracts from baculovirus (20 mg total protein) or GR containing extracts from MDA-231 cells (250 mg total protein) were added and incubated overnight at 4 C. Hydroxylapatite slurry (100 microl) in 10 mM Tris (pH 7.6) and 2 mM DTT were added and the tubes were incubated for an additional 30 min at 4 C, after which they were centrifuged to recover the pellets."
Según Navarro, TRIS = trometamol, pero encuentro muchas referencias en las que se usa "tris" en español

También como dijo Tertesa, la abreviatura "Tris" es muy frecuente en castellano. Personalmente, la utilizo con minúscula inicial (no le veo sentido a la mayúscula), después de haberla detallado la primera vez que aparece en el texto: tris(hidroximetil)aminometano (tris).
Ojo, tu texto dice DTT (probablemente ditiotreitol, como ya dijo Teresa), y no DDT (diclorodifeniltricloroetano).
Yo no suelo emplear sómbolos químicos en un texto (me parece poco "elegante"). Por eso, en un caso así, escribiría "cloruro de potasio".
