Suggested translation:
It has created a world office for e-commerce and on-line activities that grew by 30% in 2011; four geographical offices have been established with a view to coping better with the market dynamics in the countries where Service Point operates (Scandinavia, continental Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States) and the central functions have been strengthened with a new global marketing office and an international purchases function.

DIRECCIÓN=OFFICE???

Discussion

David Balayla (asker) Mar 2, 2012:
It sounds to me you could be right. The job is already out, but I'll try and pass on the correction to the client. This is always difficult - can look clumsy.
Thanks a lot!
James A. Walsh Mar 2, 2012:
I wonder do they mean URL? As in, a global (or worldwide) website address. Looking at this company's various sites, they have several country-specific ones (servicepointuk.com, servicepointusa.com, servicepointbe.com, etc.), but they also have their main site - servicepoint.net, which is registered in Spain (where the company is from). Perhaps this is their "worldwide" site too, hence the .net domain.

Dunno? Just a thought that may be worth considering...

a global/international division for e-commerce activities

I think 'division' would work here.

I wonder could 'DEPARTMENT' work here too:

Have checked out your suggestion of 'office' too and that seems to be a viable translation as well! I would tend to use either 'global' or 'international' though instead of 'world'.

globalised management of activities related to online and e-commerce

I don't know why, but I have a feeling "dirección" here is referring to management.
