German term

Stauungsbronchitis

German to English Medical Medical (general)
Among the diagnoses of a patient with cardiac decompensation (EF 13%), acute kidney injury and liver failure ( yeah, he's got it all, a study patient):

"V.a. Stauungsbronchitis"

I am hesitant to translate as "stasis bronchitis" as I do not think that it is used in English. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

secondary to left heart failure - I've never seen "congestive bronchitis" in English medical practice

agree Gisela Greenlee : I couldn't find the correct term myself and was actually considering posting "bronchitis associated with left heart failure", so thanks for providing the correct term!

I hesitate to use cardiac asthma too - pretty old-fashioned term - which is in fact pulmonary oedema

hth!
Note from asker:
Thanks for your input, but since I do not know this term from my experience as an MD, and there's rather unconvincing google support for it, I hesitated to use it.

Stauungsbronchitis
