With regards to an accident report where 2 pedestrians were un over, pls see below thanks

Determining Vehicle Speeds From Skid Marks
by James O. Harris
This work is very basic, it does not address many of the factors involved in determining vehicle
speeds from skids that are addressed by a professional traffic accident reconstructionist in
calculating vehicle speeds. It is intended to give the reader an understanding of how vehicle
speeds are determined from skid marks and some of the limitations of the calculations. This
work is limited to determining speeds from cars. Trucks, cars pulling trailers, and motorcycles
have a number of factors involved that are not addressed and this material should not be
applied to situations involving those types of vehicles.

When a manoeuvre is sufficiently severe to cause a substantial amount of slip between a vehicle’s
tyres and a dry road surface, tyre marks will usually be left on the road, and the understanding and
interpretation of these marks is an important part of the skills employed by the accident investigator.

As Gallagy has rightly pointed out, the phrase should read, 'type of skid/tire/tyre marks'.

... in order to verify the type of skid/tire/tyre marks.

Thank you for agreeing and for pointing out my mistake. I must have been thinking of the word whilst I was writing, thinking about how I would the fit the phrase into the text and I wrote the word without realising it.
