Could you please help me with the meaning of "suite" in this context (the addressee of a field safety notice). If they mean "floor" it seems strange to put it after "street".

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Edith Kelly Nov 30, 2012:
Well then maybe a Scotsperson having moved to Eire.
John Alphonse (X) Nov 30, 2012:
Only reason I even know it, Edith, is that he has responded to me using the term (with accent tho!)... :)
John Alphonse (X) Nov 30, 2012:
Normal for delivery purposes Thanks, Amel, as you said it's quite standard in the US. Deliveries are often made by express companies especially, directly to the specific office within the larger building, and many buildings don't have a central delivery department or room... As Yvette said, it is a delivery term that basically says 'office' but it could be a hotel room accepting deliveries and acting as a (hopefully!) temporary place of business, or someone staying/living there receiving a package.
Edith Kelly Nov 30, 2012:
John Alphonse Moran taing is Scottish Gaelic, g2 is Irish, so you should thank: Go raibh maith agat, unless my Irish (it was never very good) has left me completely.
Arabic & More Nov 30, 2012:
It's normal to see it like this in the United States. The "street" listed above would be the street address (something like 456 Park Place), which is the physical location of the office building or facility. The suite number would then refer to the specific room or office number within that facility as John indicated in his response.
Sheila Wilson Nov 30, 2012:
I share your confusion I think you made the right assumption - it is indeed the identifier of the actual premises, within the street - but it is strange to see it in that position in the address.

room number / unit number

The suite number usually denotes the floor in the first digit. It's referring to the unit where the business is located in most likely an office building.
