I am not sure this term has been yet translated into Greek. I think this translation is the most suitable or the less unsuitable. Σχολαστικός as ο ασχολούμενος με τους τύπους και τις λεπτομέρειες και όχι με την ουσία and σχολαστικισμός as προσήλωση στους τύπους ή στις λεπτομέρειες και αγνόηση της ουσίας. Verificationist cannot be translated into επαληθευτής (auditor) ! Verificationism is a philosophical movement. The end of the sentence could be απήλλαξε ... από τον κλοιό σχολαστικισμού...

It is actually about a criterion,the positivists philosophers were using to prove that a proposition is true or false. Karl Popper was the one that critisised it more than anybody. He promoted instead of verificationist criterion, the criterion of falsifiability (διαψευσιμότητα).
