Spanish term

en buen eje

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) orthopedics - hip surgery
This is in the handwritten progress notes in the report on a patient who had a partial hip replacement. The report says:

Control postoperatorio: herida quirúrgica cerrada, seca. RPC (reemplazo parcial cadera) cementada, *en buen eje.*

I gather this means it's in proper position or well aligned ... but what is the correct orthopedic terminology for saying this in English?

Thanks for your help.

well aligned

I think that well aligned sounds fine. The idea is for the hip to be in the right position to make sure it doesn't dislocate in the immediate post-op period (patients are instructed not to cross their legs for several weeks).

Finally, the ball is seated within the cup so the joint is properly aligned and the incision is closed

Radiographs (Fig. 5) showed both of her prostheses to be well aligned.
