Spanish term

el paso de parámetros

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering IT (Information Technology)
Occurs within a contract for software provision. The full phrase is "La solución debe ser capaz de gestionar el paso de parámetros - cliente, cuente etc."

The most likely seems to be transfer or copying (of parameters), as I have found this phrase in references to copying content to sub-routines. But does anyone know for definite? All assistence welcome.....best wishes Sian.

parameter-passing / the passing of parameters

That's certainly what's used if they are being sent to a program or sub-routine. If they are being sent to a whole system something like "passing across parameters" is more usueal.

capable of passing parameters

Lo de gestionar creo que no es necesario.

Al igual que en español, se habla de "passing parameters" al llamar a una subrutina.

Or "parameters" if you prefer...

I tend to use "data" or details" rather than "parameters" for data items such as customer names, codes, addresses... etc. Otherwise I think the text can end up being rather impenetrable to less expert or techno-savvy readers.

Moreover, if I see "solution" more than 3 times in a text my eyes and brain start to glaze over...

neutral Billh : Neil, this is a very IT specific term and passing parameters is the standard expression.
