Discussion

costinro Feb 22, 2013:
"Doritorii de a profesa" sunt "job seekers" şi nimic altceva în engleza neaoşă (mai ales americană) dar îmi place eleganţa soluţiei propuse de Lara. Sper ca remarca mea să nu supere pe nimeni.

Prospective applicants

This seems to be (mid-way) formal and in a very polite register. I don't know what version of Eng. this is intended for, but in UK we would tend to use this term, rather than the more personal form here. Although variations could be used.

I would use this fixed term because correctly written texts depend very much on common usage, and although this is not a literal translation, the idea of what one would "like to do" is still inherent in the term.

Could also use "prospective teachers"

If not teachers, then perhaps:

"prospective practicioners"
Example sentence:

"Workshops for prospective applicants to the collaborative Teaching Development Grant scheme"

"Details about the Primary Experience Programme, which gives prospective applicants for primary initial teacher training the opportunity to gain experience within a school."
