This is in a SOP of a pharmaceutical company "transmettre les documents pour prise de connaissance au sein du service via Verdi (logiciel de diffusion et de prise de connaissance)". I gather it is Software for diffusion of infomation but how to translate "prise de connaissance" in this context as I'm not sure basic training or becoming familiar with would fit???

The employee after reading acknowledges this fact by signing and dating, which is often done by means of software. Consider my answer in the context of the source.
