English term

contracts with the black

English to Japanese Art/Literary Textiles / Clothing / Fashion Fashion trend of women
The colour range, on the other hand, becomes more brilliant, and a shade of red is introduced which contracts with the black and with the shades of grey.
More jacquard fabrics and fabrics with embossed wefts, with decorations inspired by the Orient.

I don't know what does it mean "contract with" in terms of colors... Does it men it goes well with, or something like that?
I'll appreciate your suggestions or advise.

I'm pretty sure this is a mistake and should be "contrasts."
