disagree Yumico Tanaka (X) : 「生き抜いてきた」sounds like thriving, successfully. "trawl through" here does not have that connotation. I would simply put "耐えてきた” As trawling relates to the bottom of the ocean, I would put ”極貧の生活に耐えてきた.”
