French term

préparation esthétique

French to English Tech/Engineering Business/Commerce (general) Finished Vehicle industry
ce terme paraît dans le contexte de la présentation d'une société : "des prestations complètes depuis la conception de schémas de distribution jusqu’à la préparation (mécanique et esthétique), " It's been translated elsewhere as aesthetic preparation but I really don't think that's a good idea.

Any ideas?

Thanks

It sure seem like it is.... Auto detailing (British English: Car valeting), is the performance of an extremely thorough cleaning, polishing and waxing of an automobile, both inside and out, to produce a show-quality level of detail. Besides improving appearance, detailing helps to preserve resale value of a car.

I'm not 100% sure, not being an automobile expert, but I judge from the car detailing websites that we're talking about aesthetics and cleaning, not mechanics. See these English sites: http://www.a1detailplus.com/ and http://www.vancouver-autodetailing.com/.
"Préparation mécanique" may be closer to a "tune-up", but I haven't been able to find much on that. Here's a forum on the topic, which makes it look like something more than just a mechanical tune-up: http://www.forum-auto.com/pole-technique/preparation-vehicul...

Auto detailing / mechanical and aesthetic prepa Both answers seem interesting but auto detailling sounds a bit more technical - does it apply to both mechanical and aesthetic aspects or just aesthetic?

Note from asker:
Thank you for guessing right! In fact I think this is a good answer - does detailling refer to both the mechanical and aesthetic preparation?

Pre-delivery inspection

Sounds a lot like what they do as part of the PDI (in the UK), i.e check and prepare a new car mechanically and aesthetically before delivering it or handing it over to the customer.
Here's a PDI form from Rover cars:

agree Salih YILDIRIM : This can also be definrd to be "through and post - production QA visual examinations"

My suggestion as I understand your question deals with the two basics procedures for the last phase of an industrial process.
