Body Shop holds Iftar gathering with Welfare House Inmates

THE Body Shop Brunei last Thursday evening hosted an Iftar gathering with members at the Welfare House Complex, Department of Community Development (JAPEM) in Subok.

Yesterday’s Iftar ceremony began with the presentation of souvenirs for the complex residents by TBS General Manager, Jaslin Maidin, while on hand to receive on behalf of the residents was the Assistant Superintendent of KRK, Hjh Kamariah Abdullah.

JAPEM’s Welfare House Complex is a government institution providing protection and care for individuals who face social problems and acts as a rehabilitation and mentoring centre for troubled teenagers.

The Body Shop Brunei has been collaborating with KRK since its first charity campaign back in 2008 where the collaboration kick-started with the ‘Stop Domestic Violence in the Home’, ‘Break the Silence on Domestic Violence: Talk to a Friend’ in September 2008 through its ‘Product: Lip Care Stick Duo promotion’.

This then followed with ‘Stop Sex Trafficking of Children & Young People’ in October 2010 through its ‘Product: Soft Hands Kind Heart Hand Cream’ promotion and the latest was a campaign using its dragon fruit lip butter as the charity product.

Members of the public chose to support the campaign by purchasing these charity items.
