I'm afraid it was simply a reference within an answer in a interview. There was no more context I was aware of.

"turning the tables?" I'm not sure one can say so about funds, though. Question: is this a description of a diagram/chart with the curves going alternately up and down? Expanding the context a bit may be helpful.
