Thank you, doctor. If legal, medical, and scientific, then definitely professional. Technical literature deals with technology. For an engineer, a technical journal may also be a professional journal.

I have also met with so called "non-patent literature", but I think this may very narrowly refer to the entire technical literature collection excluding patent specifications/descriptions as such.
