آفتاب که می زد، غازها روی سبزه ها جمع می شدند، بال و پر می تکاندند، آواز می خواندند و سر و صدا به راه می انداختند.
گاهی هم بازی می کردند. بازیهایشان برد و باخت داشت. اشکنک داشت. سر شکستنک داشت.

As you can see I presented the references according to which I suggest this idiom and if you notice the degree of my certainty is 3. In addition internet is one of the sources we can refer to.I couldn't find it in any English site ,too.

playing can get you black and blue

There is a saying in English: "If you play with fire, you will get burned." This conveys the idea somewhat, but it doesn't really fit here, in talking about geese.

We don't have a saying like the one in Persian, so I have used a simple statement.

We could vary it by saying "playing can get your head cracked"...

In working on the whole thing, I reviewed a number of Persian sites and video clips exemplifying the phrase and I modified my suggestion:

When the sun was shining, the geese would gather on the green. They were flapping their wings and feathers. They were singing and making noises. Sometimes they would play. Their games had winners and losers. Games can cause injuries.
