instrumentation

"Metrological connections" sounds very clunky in English, and I doubt whether anyone would use such an expression. Also, where measurements of machinery, equipment or processes are required, engineers and scientists generally refer to "instrumentation" as covering not only the sensors (thermocouples, strain gauges or whatever) but also the associated instruments which interpret and record the signals. As a word, "metrology" has a rather narrower meaning in EN than in FR, and generally refers to the study of high precision measurements and instruments, eg NPL, NIST etc..

Pour raccorder un instrument de mesure
