Corium, who make the stuff, make no reference to 'repolido', which in Mike's text is used in a positive sense. Corium do, however, use the word 'repolimento', in a negative sense:

Resistente à “queima” ou repolimento.

- Apparently a reference to burnishing as a negative characteristic.

Repolir = polir novamente Repolido is the adjective or past participle of the verb "repolir" (repolish). Varnished would be "envernizado".
