Discussion

Klementina Shahini Sep 14, 2014:
Kuptime të ndryshme të fjalës yxhym I agree with the origin of the word and the literary meaning but in times it has been used to describe different actions, moves. See the examples:

Forca tullaca, yxhym, yxhym
Na dhëntë
tulla - lavdi dhe famë!
I used to use this word a lot when I was a child. Every time we wanted to do something we would say, Yxhym tek lumi. - let's run to go to the river.

I'd have to agree with Oliver's explanation here. They are being redundant. In this context yxhym's adaptation of the Turkish word 'hücum' is being used for the same meaning 'attack'. As Sherefedin has pointed out also, in Albanian we use the word 'yxhym' when we are describing doing something quickly, in a rush. Many Albanian words inherited from the Turkish language (and Arabic mostly) do not have the exact meaning as they do in Turkish. They were comprehended in error by non-speakers and used erroneously and such is the case here.
Oliver Qamili Sep 13, 2014:
"Yxhym" is not an Albanian word; it is borrowed from the Turkish language when Albania was occupied by the Ottoman Empire and it means "sulm" in Albanian = "attack" in English - the writer is just repeating him/herself. So you basically have to omit the duplicate and the translation would have to be just "attacks", not "attacks and attacks".

"Yxhym", as Oliver explains above, is indeed an adaptation from Turkish, but it is usually used as an urging call, i.e. yxhym! - charge on/forward! In this case, rather unusually, the said word is a noun.

If you are looking for another word so as to not repeat "attack", my suggestion would be: charges and fierce attacks
