Hello,

my order isn't a translation of "whole sentences" - I have a Power Point file to translate into British English - and there are the German sentences as well as the English translations. The English translations are the sentences I have to check and to make proposals on how to write them better (if necessary).

How do I deal with the term "Kultur- und Internationalreferentin" in English?

How do I deal with it? Do I have to translate it into English?

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

At a university, a "Referent(in)" is normally either a lecturer (on) or an examiner (in), IMO.

And as for the posted term being "more than one term": I'm mystified; it's more than one WORD, it's true, but to me it's a valid "single term".

Administrator in my humble opinion, docent (never heard of this title in the US academic system)/lecturer/professor are all unsuitable choices. As far as I know, Referent is simply an officer, clerk, administrator. Nothing to do with academic positions.

@murad ah ok, i thought you did because i got this note on the top of my page. Dear Tanja1, One term is allowed per question. Including multiple terms for translation in a single KudoZ posting interferes with the process of generating glossary entries. Kind regards.

I think it is more like a professor or even lecturer - as when I looked for a description of the profession in German it said that their task is to organize / prepare presentations as well as engagement in the children's and youth work

Sorry I missed it! I'm translating a PowerPoint file where the university presents some of their fields like for example university sports. There are also named contact persons with their respective positions (like "pastorale Mitarbeiterin" or similar). And I'm not sure how to translate them.

Only you can know what you have to translate and what not! The term itself is odd -
'International keynote speaker on culture' is the first thing that comes to mind

not quite sure if professor or lecturer woudl fit better. lecturer as a title sounds a bit wrong to me, but then, it might not be a professor...
