rejecting approval Seeing how I realized it is the husband's attorney requesting this, it would make sense to request that the "approval be rejected" given that the parties had an agreement, the court approved it, and then one of the parties alleges that the other did not comply with the agreement... although technically it would be better to ask that the approval be "withdrawn" or "revoked." Anyway, I went ahead and sent it in. I appreciate your help.

You may well be right, but I just happen to be more familiar with the formula using "en + inf".

So as not to clutter up the discussion, I'll post a few examples below.

Patinba is right. He iis asking not to approve because the conditions have not been complied. They have ALREADY not met the conditions in a timely manner.

It seems to me... that there are a couple of words missing... but that's exactly how it reads. I was thinking that it meant what Patinba is suggesting, but I was trying to see if it could be saying that IF the conditions are not met in a timely manner THEN it would be rejected... the tenses and wording are making my brain hurt.

Thanks! "Refused" would work. I put "not be granted" and sent it off already.
I decided to make the change and resend it to them since it was in fact the husband's attorney who was submitting the request that it be "refused", plus, it had already been granted.

I think this can be expressed more concisely, and I'm not sure you can reject an approval.
