I need the "official" terminology for this system, namely on Ford cars.

From the material:
"Helps reduce the amount of minor steering corrections caused by the steering nibbles and provide a more comfortable driving experience."

contrôle actif des micro-corrections

si on laisse l'assistance électrique de la direction fonctionner librement, elle effectue des micro-corrections constantes qui peuvent créer des sensations déplaisantes dans le volant. cet "active control" les élimine.
