Spanish term

Espesor de retiro

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Piping failures, Thickness Monitoring Programs
Translating a Mexican engineering document that pertains to piping failures, and in one section, the types of piping wall thicknesses are listed:

Espesor actual (actual thickness)
Espesor mínimo (minimum thickness)
ESPESOR DE RETIRO (?)

I have looked all over, but cannot find the proper English term for this type of thickness. Does anyone have any suggestions? Even more valuable would be the link to where you found the information, as I need to enhance my research skills.

Gracias de antemano!

(Tube) Retirement thickness

API Standard 530

This standard does not give recommendations for tube retirement thickness;

I googled 'calculo de espesor de retiro norma API' and I found:

3.5.2.1 Cálculo del Espesor de retiro (API 530)
Para el cálculo de espesor de retiro se utilizó la norma API 530
“Calculation of Heater Tube Thickness in Petroleum Refineries”. Esta norma
considera dos regímenes de esfuerzos para sus bases de cálculo, las cuales
son:

I then google API Standard 530 and found:

The standard also does not specify recommendations or requirements for tube retirement thickness.

Thank you, slothm :-)
agree Neil Ashby : Sounds like a less-than-polite why of saying how much grey matter one has left when one retires. :@)
